Thomas Garvie

Thomas started his career as a Wyoming Public Defender, handling hundreds of serious felony and misdemeanor cases and trying them to verdict. He knows the prosecution’s playbook because he has seen it from every angle. There is no place he is more comfortable than a Wyoming courtroom, and no client he will not fight for.

‍ ‍CRIMINAL DEFENSE & FAMILY LAW

Grant Rogers

Grant graduated with honors from the University of Wyoming College of Law and went on to practice at Davis & Cannon, one of Wyoming's premier statewide firms. What started as The Rogers Law Firm, he founded this firm to practice law on his own terms, with the experience of a larger firm, accountability of an attorney whose name is on the door, and advantage of knowing every client by name.

Frequently Asked Questions

COMMON QUESTIONS

  • An arraignment is your first formal court appearance after being charged. The judge will read the charges against you and you will enter a plea — typically not guilty at this stage. Bail may also be addressed, or readdressed if you had bail set at your initial appearance. Having an attorney present at arraignment can make a significant difference in your bond conditions and in how your case proceeds from day one.

  • Wyoming courts determine custody based on the best interests of the child, considering factors such as each parent’s relationship with the child, the ability to provide a stable home, and any history of domestic violence. Wyoming law under Wyo. Stat. § 20-2-201 does not presume either parent is entitled to custody but temporary custody can be established at the outset of a case.

  • You are not required to hire an attorney to file Wyoming LLC formation documents, but a well-drafted operating agreement is critical to protecting your interests and avoiding disputes down the road. Many business disputes we handle stem directly from inadequate or generic operating agreements. Getting it right at formation is far less expensive than litigating it later.

  • Yes. We regularly represent clients in Cheyenne, Casper, and throughout Wyoming. We appear in courts statewide and offer remote consultation and representation for clients who cannot easily travel to our Laramie office. Distance is not a barrier to getting the representation you need.
